Broad River Retail, a licensee of Ashley HomeStores, announces the Grand Re-Opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its newly renovated Pineville, NC, location on Friday, September 1, at 9:30 AM. Charlie Malouf, Broad River’s President and CEO, will officiate at the ceremony, along with team members from the Store and Corporate Office. Members of the media and community are also invited to attend.
The Pineville store, located at 11320 Carolina Place Parkway across from Carolina Place Mall, was the first opened by Jonathan Ishee, the Company’s Founder and Executive Chairman, when he established Broad River in 2003, and it is one of the Company’s largest stores among the 16 now operating. The extensive renovation was completed over the course of five months, while the store remained open for business.
Walking into the next generation 6.0 Ashley HomeStore, Customers will notice a brand new entryway and experience, with drum lighting and cantilevered grid ceilings. The Guest Services Desk has been relocated to the front of the store from the back and upgraded to reflect a more contemporary design. The Mattress Gallery has been rebranded as Dream Destination and doubled in size. The Kids area has been rebranded as Gen Now and expanded. Cantilevered grid ceilings were added to both of these areas, as well as to featured areas in the front of the store, to create focal points and a more intimate shopping experience.
Three windows have been cut into the front of the store to introduce natural light and enhance the overall visual appeal of the displayed furnishings. New flooring, including polished concrete throughout and new brick wall applications in the Vintage Casual and Urbanology areas further enhance the shopping experience and update the ambience of the store.
The store’s exterior has been updated with a new brick and stone façade and outdoor lighting, along with façade and street signage showcasing Ashley HomeStore’s new logo. Restrooms have also been refreshed. More exterior finishing touches will be completed in September, including parking lot resurfacing and restriping, pedestrian sidewalk and final painting on the side of the building.
“This completely renovated store will bring our Guests an inspiring shopping experience, and we’re very excited to present Ashley’s continually updated product offerings in a beautiful next generation 6.0 Ashley HomeStore-designed environment. In addition, we’ve mobilized ourpoint-of-sale technology leveraging our STORIS software with Microsoft Surface tablets that enable our Home Furnishings Consultants to simplify and expedite the sales process with their Customers,” commented Charlie Malouf, Broad River’s President and CEO. “We’ve worked on this plan for quite some time now and believe we have created a store flow and design that will make our Pineville location the premier destination for home furnishing shoppers in the region.”
“We look forward to welcoming our Guests in this stunning new setting and assisting them with their selections in an environment that makes shopping a pleasure,” commented Renee Bradley, General Manager at Pineville.
“From improved lighting that shows truer colors to interesting design elements, we have upgraded every aspect of the store,” stated Jonathan Houck, Broad River’s Vice President of Merchandising, Visual Impact and Store Design. Houck was instrumental in working with Ashley HomeStore’s corporate design team, the architect and contractors to develop and finalize the renovation plan.
The Charlotte office of Nelson, a global architecture, design and consulting services firm with 35 locations, provided architectural services on the project. Charlotte-based Myers & Chapman, Inc. won the general contractor bid and has worked with Broad River on several projects in the past.
“This is the sixth project we have completed for Broad River Retail in the last several years with each one continuing to raise the bar for the customer experience.
